Weekend snippets:

• The big creepy spider that joined our little farewell party on Friday night was disgusting, scary, and fascinating all at the same time. So much so that I had to take a picture.

• It turns out that I taught myself to purl the wrong way. I had instead learned a decorative stitch, which wasn't quite working out for the socks I'm in the process of knitting. But now that I know the correct way to purl, I'm delighted to find out it's much easier than I thought it was.
