So, I'm growing out my hair. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the short locks. In fact, I probably prefer them. But I've been wearing the short 'do for the past 3 years, and I kind of felt like I wanted a change. So did my stylist, and I can't really blame her. It probably gets boring cutting my hair the same way every time. Also, I've been feeling this little nag to DO STUFF with my hair. Pig tails! Braids! A bun! All pretty much impossible with the short hair. Then, there's that whole getting married thing (no, we haven't set a date yet, we're SO not in a hurry). I don't want to be THAT girl who grows her hair out because she's getting married, but I was already thinking about it anyways, and it would be nice to have extra hair options for the "big day".
The thing is, I may not make it that far because, OH MY GOD, it's driving me CRAZY! There's all these wispy bits that keep brushing the side of my face, and while the front is long enough to put behind my ears, I'm not particularly fond of how it looks. Also? Longer hair, means more maintenance. Not only do I have to blow dry my bangs, but the rest of the front too, or else it dries in funky clumps. The current length of my hair? Not even past my chin, and I'm already being reminded how much I hate dealing with it when it starts to gain any length.
It doesn't help that it's been a bit warmer 'round here lately and all I want is for the back of my hair to not be touching my neck and it's not long enough for me to do anything about it! GAH! I may take up permanently wearing a Rosie the Riveter style bandanna to help tame my unruly locks until they're long enough for me to achieve pigtails. If that doesn't help, I'm stealing the boyfiance's clippers and shaving my head.
