Ten years ago, I was an avid reader on a forum about fonts. People would post links to free fonts or ask if anybody knew what font was being used here or there. One day, someone linked to Loobylu, wanting to know what font was being used in the header. I clicked through and completely forgot about fonts. I was instantly smitten with Claire's drawings and pretty much everything else on her site.
I had a spot on the internet already, but I wasn't really doing much with it. There were a few photos posted and some links to sites I liked, but I had no motivation to update regularly. After finding Loobylu, a little light blub came on...I could start a blog. So I did. I redesigned my site to be more blog-like, and I wrote my first entry on December 31st, 2000.
When I started, I didn't know how long I'd keep doing this. It was a way for me to stay creative, and a place for me to put stuff. I suppose it still is, which is probably why I've kept going. Even if I don't update as much as I used to, I don't think I could ever not have this blog. I've met so many people and made so many great friends, and it probably wouldn't have happened without this. Or without you guys. So thank you. Thank you to everyone who stops by to read, leaves a comment, or sends me an e-mail (even if I don't reply, know that I read everything). I always tell myself I'm doing this for me, but I don't think I'd still be doing if it weren't for all of you.
Happy ten year anniversary little blog!
It's kind of a nice way to ring in the new year, don'tcha think?
